Hand and Wrist Muscle Strains
Tendon injuries, such as flexor or extensor tendon tears, can cause pain, weakness, or difficulty moving your fingers or wrist. These injuries are common after trauma or repetitive strain. Treatment may include splinting, hand therapy, or surgical tendon repair.
Ligaments support and stabilise your hand and wrist joints. A sprain or tear—often caused by falls or sudden twists—can lead to swelling, pain, and joint instability. Treatment options include rest, physiotherapy, splinting, or ligament reconstruction surgery.
Broken bones (fractures) or overuse-related stress injuries can cause sharp pain, swelling, and reduced hand function. Common types include scaphoid fractures and metacarpal breaks. Treatment may involve casting, bracing, or surgery for proper bone alignment and healing.
Joint instability happens when the hand or wrist joints move excessively or feel loose, often due to ligament damage or previous injury. It can cause clicking, weakness, or pain. Non-surgical treatments include bracing and exercises, but surgery may be needed to restore stability.
Conditions like tendonitis, nerve compression (e.g. carpal tunnel syndrome), or arthritis can lead to long-term hand or wrist pain. Symptoms may develop from repetitive use or poor ergonomics. Treatment ranges from therapy and steroid injections to minimally invasive procedures.
Muscle strains occur when muscles in the hand or forearm are overstretched or torn, often from overuse or sudden force. Symptoms include aching, weakness, or swelling. Most cases are treated with rest, ice, compression, and guided rehabilitation.

Video 

Consultation
A Video Consultation will be arranged at your convenience. During this consultation Mr. Younis will determine whether you are suitable for IIS Prime.
Pre-Operative Assessment
If you wish to go ahead, you 
will be offered a date for your procedure. You will need to complete a pre-operative assessment and in most cases this can be done over the phone.
Assessment
& Surgery
Mr Younis will assess you and perform your operation on the same day. The operation will be done by numbing you hand/wrist (local anaesthesia).
Follow Up
6 weeks following your operation you will get either a telephone or video consultation (dependent on your preference) with Mr Younis.
