Mr Zafar Naqui is recognised nationally and internationally for his expertise in treating thumb arthritis. He is one of the UK’s foremost specialists in thumb joint replacement surgery. He sits on the UK Advisory Board for the Touch® thumb joint replacement. In recognition of his leadership and contribution to advancing standards of care, Mr Naqui has been elected President-Elect of the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand (FESSH), the largest professional body for hand surgeons in Europe – and the first UK surgeon to hold this role in the organisation’s history.

He trained in both Orthopaedic and Plastic hand surgery, completing prestigious fellowships in the UK and abroad, including at Harvard University. He holds an the British and European Diplomas in Hand Surgery and the UK’s first Masters in Hand Surgery making him one of only 3 surgeons in the country to hold all three awards.
